We’re seeking a UI/UX Product Designer to lead experience design across Best Life’s mobile (React Native), web (React), and LLIF web platforms. You’ll create intuitive interfaces that enable users to log and explore health, lifestyle, and emotional well-being data effortlessly, using touch, voice, and text inputs. Collaborating with experienced technical leadership, developers, QA, and marketing, you’ll leverage Figma and AI-powered tools to prototype rapidly, iterate based on user and analytics feedback, and bring complex datasets to life as clear, actionable visuals. Success will be measured by user engagement with your designs, usability feedback, and the impact of gamified features on behavior change.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and prototype user flows for:
    • Health: symptoms, pain, medication, body metrics, vitals syncs, sleep
    • Lifestyle: nutrition, exercise, content tracking, time management
    • Emotional well-being: stress, emotions, mood
    • Input & planning: note-taking, journaling, habit plans, calendar insights
    • Insights & interaction: data visualizations, trend discovery, voice/text NLP input
  • Build modular, reusable component libraries in Figma and collaborate with engineers to implement designs in React Native (mobile) and React (web).
  • Work with developers, QA, and marketing to define data requirements for design iteration, incorporating qualitative user feedback and quantitative analytics.
  • Create engaging gamified experiences using concrete performance metrics to motivate users to achieve their ‘best life’.
  • Design accessible, internationalized, and responsive interfaces for global users.
  • Support user testing sessions to refine designs based on real-world feedback.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in UX/UI or product design, ideally for mobile-first consumer apps.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing simplified data experiences and elegant interaction design.
  • Proficiency in Figma and design systems.
  • Empathy for diverse user needs in health and lifestyle tracking.
  • Critical thinking to translate complex datasets into intuitive visuals.

Nice to Haves

  • Familiarity with React Native, React, or AI design tools.
  • Experience with voice interface/NLP-based interaction design.
  • Background in quantified self, digital health, or behavior-change platforms.
  • Strong presentation skills to pitch designs to stakeholders.

Senior React Native Developer (Raleigh, NC, USA)

We are seeking motivated and skilled Software Development Engineers to join our team and contribute to our mission of transforming lives through data. In this role, you will utilize your programming expertise to implement high-quality solutions that support our goals.

Key responsibilities

  • Primarily, you will be given requirements for software development and expected to comprehend, implement, achieve ease of use, create unit tests, document, deploy, troubleshoot, and support our implementation.
  • As part of a team, you will troubleshoot, fix, and support Best Life front-end software as required.
  • You will implement primarily React native mobile and limited React web with material UI.
  • You will use Sentry.io for monitoring and troubleshooting
  • You will use the Sanity Content Management System (CMS).
  • You will primarily interact with the LLIF cloud backend via Rest API.
  • You will securely sync data with authenticated 3rd party platforms that provide environment and health data like Apple Healthkit, Google Fit, Fitbit, Health Connect, Health, etc.
  • Your development will occur in private GitHub repositories managed by agile development methods.
  • Daily updates will be via remote east coast USA 8 AM EST agile standup meetings.

Qualifications

  • BS in a technical discipline (computer science, cyber security, math, engineering, etc.) with 3 years experience, an MS with 2 years experience, a PhD with 1-year experience, or anyone with over 5 years experience.
  • Experience with web and mobile frontend software development using React Native, React, and Material UI.
  • Experience with Apple Healthkit and Google Fit desired.
  • Experience interacting with large-scale data platforms via Rest API.
  • Proactively work with your team to create elegant solutions from first principles thinking and solve complex problems.
  • Capable of creatively presenting complex cross-domain data via web and mobile interfaces.
  • Experience with GitHub code. repositories and agile development.
  • Experience leveraging AI to improve productivity.
